I hired an assistant.
WHO AM I?!
So really, I’ve needed an assistant for ages. I love to work. I love work! All the projects I have my fingers in are fulfilling and exciting and make me feel good. I often wonder if I’m not an addict except with work instead of shopping or beer or dope.
And overall, I’ve been pretty good at limiting my commitments. Besides that, I haven’t been good at delegating. It’s a hard skill to learn! I worked with a fantastic intern last year, but I wasn’t skilled enough yet to drive the relationship effectively.
I’ve reached a point where I think an assistant could help me get more work done, get better work done, and will also help me refine my slowly developing management skills.
Riane started today, and I’m stoked. I pretty much decided the first time I met her that she would be perfect for the job I was then considering. She’s smart and tech savvy and I feel like we’ll be a good pair. She’ll mostly help with Market Day and Drink & Draw for now, but I’m sure her influence will spread.
Hooray!
